How do I open a SecurEducation Savings Account?

To start saving, request for money or to be able to effectively plan and track your savings goal and expenses, you must open a SecurEducation account. The SecurEducation savings account is a deposit account for you to save for your long and short term education goals. In this article, we will walk you through a step by step approach on how to open your account.

Step 1: Download and create an SecurEducation App

You must have signed up and completed your enrollment to access this page on the dashboard or Account tab. See how to sign up in this article: 

Step 2: Click on "Create Account"

Open the app and select “Account” menu option and click "Open Account" to get started.

You can also start this process from the Open Account tab on the dashboard 


Alert
Read the instructions carefully and accept the electronic consent and terms of use then click Setup Account to proceed.

Step 3: Complete your BVN verification

  1. Click proceed to go to the next page for your BVN verification. Your BVN will be verified with your selfie image, pls note the instruction on the requirement for the image and click continue to proceed.
  2. Select your country and click continue to proceed. Enter your BVN (11 digit number), click continue and your BVN will be immediately validated.
  3. Next, you will be prompted to take a selfie. Allow camera access and ensure the image meets the requirement and click accept to complete your BVN verification.

Step 4: Complete NIN verification

Next is to verify your NIN
  1.  Click proceed to go to the next page for your NIN verification. Your NIN will also be verified with your selfie image, pls note the instruction on the requirement for the image and click continue to proceed.
  2. Select your country and click continue to proceed. Enter your NIN (11 digit number), click continue and your NIN will be immediately validated.
  3. Next, you will be prompted to take a selfie. Allow camera access and ensure the image meets the requirement and click accept to complete your NIN verification.

Step 5: Click on Proceed 

Select proceed to complete the account opening. You will get an email and notification that your account has been successfully opened.


Info
You might need to wait for up to 30 mins for your BVN and NIN to be verified. While processing you can go back to the dashboard and you will be notified when the process is complete.
